OSSCE ILA STUDENTS UNION GOVERNMENT HOSTS 2019 “SUG CUP” FOOTBALL COMPETITION
The annual sport competition of the Osun State College of Education, Ila Orangun students Union started on the 5th of September 2019.
The 2019 SUG CUP football competition edition was flagged off by the Provost of the College, Prof Isaac Oyewole. The Provost expressed his delight in the SUG for envisioning the annual sport competition; he said physical exercise is one of the health tips to make one look fit and healthy. He encouraged the students to be more alive to sporting activities as the College management is making frantic efforts in ensuring that both staff and students’ key in to the idea.
In his response, the Students Union President, Com. Raji Keji A. (a.k.a paracetamol) thanked the provost for making himself available despite his tight schedule to flag off the competition. He also appreciated the provost for creating an enabling environment and for provision of enough facilities for the competition. He applauded the provost interest in sport and his willingness at all times to support the students and take their needs as top priority. The Union Leader pledged that the students will continue to give their unbiased support to the provost as well.
The Dean, student affairs matters; Mr Fatai Adedayo also expressed his happiness for the successful kick off of the competition, having thanked the college Management for being in attendance. He advised the students to avoid anything that can cause problem before, during and after the competition.
The competition was declared open at about 10am with the provost taking the opening kick of the ball.
The competition featured all the various schools in the NCE, faculties in the DEGREE programme and some departments of the various schools in the college.
