MESSAGE FROM THE PROVOST
My pleasure welcoming all students into this great institution, Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun. The College was established on the 25th September, 1979 as a Campus of Oyo now (Osun) State College of Education, Ilesa with the aim of training quality teachers to acquire qualifications in Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and Degree. Over the years, the College has maintained her academic integrity in turning out quality and highly qualified teachers in Education, Science, Arts, Social Sciences, Vocational and Technical Programmes.
This students’ handbook is a publication meant to guide you in your academic, social and religious activities. It simply provides you the rules and regulations to guide your daily conduct/behaviour and relationships during the period of your studentship.
The handbook is published once in five years in conformity with the reviewed Minimum Standard as provided by the National Commission for College of Education (NCCE) the supervisory agent of all Colleges of Education in Nigeria. The current handbook is therefore expected to have a life span of five years (2015-2019), having taken into consideration all the necessary modifications that have been effected in the Fourth Edition of the Minimum Standard that was in vogue between 2010 and 2014.
All students are therefore advised to strictly adhere to and comply with the contents of this handbook in order to guarantee peaceful and smooth running of their academic programmes in the College.
While the Provost on behalf of the Governing Council, Management and staff congratulate you on special honour accorded you as students of this great institution, you are again admonished to make the best use of this handbook as your companion to guide your daily activities in order to safeguard your future aspirations to achieve the best of your sojourn in this College. I wish you the very best and a successful studentship.
