HOW TO USE THE LIBRARY

The library opens by 8.00am and closes by 4.00pm on working days and 9am to 2.00pm on Saturdays.

Users are to drop their bags at a designated place at the circulation section. Those that want to read their personal books are to walk into the reading room quietly to read whatever they want to read. Those that want to read library materials are to browse through the library catalogue to see whether the library has their choice of materials. If the library is having their choice of material in its collection, they are to copy the classification number or the call number of the materials from the catalogue and proceed to the shelves for the location of their needed material(s). The classification number is a shorthand code that tells the location of the materials in the library. It tells the section at which the material could be found and the arrangement of the materials on the shelves. The classification number appears at the top left hand corner of the library catalogue card. It is a mixed up of letter and number (mixed notation). Materials are logically arranged on the shelve using the call numbers, and users are to retrieve with the call numbers.

Consulted information materials are to left on the table after use, users should on no occasion return consulted materials back to the shelves by them self. Library materials should be carefully handled. See the library guide issue at point of registration for detailed in handling library materials. Also see the library guide for set of instruction on do’s and don’ts of the library
